FAT-SCRAP MARCH 2010 DAY TWENTYONE

Hi and welcome back!

I'd like to remind you today that FAT-SCRAP  is not a diet although it may seem like one at first. If you remember, the reason we were omitting some foods and drinks from our choices was to see if this had a positive effect on our bodies in how we felt, for example, would we feel less bloated, have more energy, feel slimmer? The other reason was to encourage you to make different food and drink choices from what you would usually choose.

I think by now you will appreciate just how much of all these foods and drinks we have in our diets. In the case of wheat, it  is so easy to eat it at every meal and for every snack..just think - Bran Flakes for breakfast, biscuit for snack, sandwich for lunch, cake for snack, pasta for dinner...ALL WHEAT! Would you choose oats for every meal?

Anyway, going back to the Programme, the idea is not to put you on a restriction diet and deprive you of these food and drinks but to help you become confident that you do not need to have so much of these less nutritious foods and drinks and confident that you can choose alternative healthier foods and drinks. Once you have seen and felt the positive effects that not having them has, and also the benefits of making healthier choices, you will be less likely to want to include them again in such big quantities!

When you learn what you can live without, you develop the patience to be able to make conscious choices, to accept or refuse, turning towards to your own happiness.

Sue x

Good morning all! SOrry i didn't write anything yesterday and it will only be very quick today. Work is extremely busy. BUT...i walked to work today! HEY how about that? (There is a reason of course as i shall be going to a party after work and can walk home!!!). FIrstly happy birthday Jayne and sorry you and Pear are feeling so poorly. It is definitely something going round! Had great work-out with Sue outside yesterday which was WONDERFUL! Look forward to more of that. I have looked at my diary and i see that i am probably not eating enough....perhaps you could comment - hence another reason weight not coming off but on the positive side I AM proud of myself doing 3 lots of exercise per week for the last 3 weeks. I am motivated and have changed some age-old habits. Interestingly though i tried a small caramel slice (the mouth-size version) and i couldn't believe how sweet it was! I actually tasted all that sugar.
Food for Wed and Thurs;
Breks: mango, yog, nuts; bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms; 3 rice cakes and peanut butter.
Thurs: mango, yog, nuts; lunch (after Sue) veg soup, pot tuna; snack-cake!; eve veggie pasta dish; eve: nuts and raisins. See you tomorrow Sue and Jayne - if you are better. xx

Hi girls,
Hope everyone has had a good day and sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly Jayne. I do hope you recover quickly.

Well after a very hungry day yesterday I have been extremely hungry again today so have gone with it. All healthy choices but a little more than normal.

And guess what? It's definitely my time of the month so I am actually thrilled I can put my hunger down to that and that once again, for the third month running, I have had very few PMT symptoms! Way hey!!! After years of suffering, endless doctors visits, herbal supplements etc etc...who would have thought it was all down to the food I eat. I almost want to test it out next month and start eating sugar again (I'm sure sugar is the culprit!) but I just can't bring myself to! I feel so great on this new eating plan that I don't want to spoil it in any way.

So, although I don't feel particularly tired, an early night for me tonight as I know that sleep depravation does not help me at this time either. Good to listen to my body and not fight against it!

Enjoy your session tomorrow girls and good luck for your step onto the scales!

Hi Mara, impressed by your walk to work today, how long was it? For some reason I thought you worked in Chineham.

I am so proud of your exercsie too as I know this has been difficult for you to feel positive about, but you are getting fitter already and you seem to be enjoying the sessions once you are here so that's great!

Food wise, I know you are finding it difficult to commit to the Programme but you are getting there. As I said yesterday, you may need to eat little and often and make sure you include a fruit or vegetable portion each time. I'll talk more about it with you tomorrow x
