When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not QUIT.

Hi and welcome back!
Motivation comes from how you feel about something. Generally if you feel something is going to be fun or enjoyable you will do it. If you feel positive about it and you believe that it will help you progress or improve you will do it. If you feel that you can be successful you will do it. If you feel that it is interesting you will do it. If you feel supported you will do it.
Unfortunately I have not felt motivated to write the blog over the last week as I was not feeling a lot of these things. Both the new FAT-SCRAPPERS have not been here because of holidays and family commitments and our other members have been busy with holidays and work commitments so knowing that probably no one was reading or connecting here I felt quite lonely, bored and negative - hence no motivation.
So this leads to me to ask you "Are you feeling motivated to eat healthily and exercise regularly!? If you are then I invite you to share with us which of the above is helping you feel this way and how...And if you are not then I invite you to share with us which of the above is not happening and why.
And I am pleased to say that our new members Claire2 and Rainbow are now ready to hit the blog big time!!!

Just read this Sue and I have missed your blog - promise to write more tomorrow - have had 4 days off and been to Wales.....have thought about you all day today for some reason......so must have guessed something was up....will let you all know my thoughts after good night's sleep xxxxxxxxx
Dear Sue,
Thank you for the lovely verse - very motivational! As I said to you at circuit training last night - I have been reading your blogs but as I havent been adding my comments, you didnt know that and were bound to feel 'lonely' - sorry! Now that Claire2 is back, I will make sure that I post my comments as it is good to get support from all the fat-scrappers!
So my progress so far - I am loving the Fat-scrap program. It has been hard work and I have used muscles that I havent used for about 30 years! I have never been athletic but I have amazed myself by being able to do quite alot in the circuit training sessions. It has helped me to believe that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. I have started applying this attitude to other parts of my life too.
I am now making healthy choices for my meals and snacks and the rest of the family have been benefiting as I serve up the same meals. I have a very sweet tooth and thought that cutting out all sugar would be tough. It hasnt been as I have been enjoying lots of fresh fruit and dried fruit which I have savoured more than a Mars bar - honestly!
Changes can be made if you are in the right frame of mind and visualising the end result is a powerful tool.
My current target is to buy a fabulous dress for my day at Ascot on the 18th of June - cant wait!
Thanks again Sue - all your efforts are very much appreciated. xx
Hey, lovely to hear from you both!! So pleased to hear that you have had some well deserved time off Mara - and what a perfect weekend you chose for it weather wise!! Nice to know you have been thinking about me, as I have you, of course!! What I have missed from connecting with you all on the blog is the support you give me - see it's mutual! - and also not knowing how you are getting on and supporting you. Of course I have been meeting with Rainbow and know that she has been doing fantastically well, as has Claire1 and Mandy who I still see regularly. Claire2 had a great first week too but of course, like everybody, her holiday has been a bit of a blip as far as the Ptrgramme is concerned but she is back on track now and throwing herself into it.
Rainbow, your comments today are very welcome, and I am sure will help motivate anyone reading them to either get back on track if they have stepped off, or perhjaps make a promise to themselves to do something about their health and fitness. Also I am sure that writing down how you are feeling will help you stay motivated and remind you any time you feel demotivated where you need to get yourself back to again.
Keep strong everybody!! x
Hello All
Sorry I haven't bloged for a while, I think I avoid it because maybe it shines a light on me being honest on what I am eating. So saying that I haven't been that bad, I think the only thing I have recently done was to not have lunch one day (due to events beyond my control!)and thus I hit Pizza Express with a vengeance (salad starter, pizza and a pudding!) - nice bottle of carbonated water with it! Have had sausage and chips one night as well. So the odd stodge interlaced with some good stuff like jacket potatoes, chicken kebabs. Enjoying my yogurt and blueberries in the morning (also added porridge oats overnight this Mon - so thanks for the tips Rainbow!).
As I write I am having my salad lunch (watercress, chicken bits, feta, radishes, mustard sauce and chopped cherry tomatoes!). Gotten into the old Nairns Oatcakes too! They also do berry and ginger nut ones!! Yum! They feel like a good snack, it's likes having a biscuit (I like Maryland Choc Chip Cookies kind of biscuit!!) - but it's a good biscuit type, so I don't feel that it's edible garbage (unlike eating a Mars bar or a Go Ahead bar etc).
I have been getting back into swimming, went Mon and Tues. I nagged my poor smoking chum into 10 lengths (their personal best!!). I did praise them a lot, as I thought I appreciate it when Sue gives us positive feedback on our efforts.
We had a cracking holiday a couple of weeks back. It's taken me this long to get back to pre hols weight - working hard with Sue has been great. Too much beer, one meal out a day (salads for lunch) and swimming every other day - so came back and to Sue's amazement I had put on a whopping 6 pounds!! Let's say last Sat I was 6lbs lighter - so the beer really messed my metabolism up! Trust me, I was pleased that I wasn't truly that 6lbs of extra weight for good. So being at break even was fab & a big phew!!
Sue is so right about the beer having been my downfall, sometimes we just have to step off to understand how right she is!
I have really enjoyed meeting Rainbow. G it was nice to meet you too, I think you helped us girls to work harder as you didn't make such a hulabaloo as I know I did on one exercise! Roll on Friday!
Working with Sue I have really enjoyed the Accumulator and the Chaser sets of exercise. They have really challenged me, so I can say a big thank you to Sue for introducing us to them.
Sue, the blog is a useful tool - so don't lose heart on it. Maybe, with a changeover of bloggers it has a cyclical low. However with new members it will flow back into prominence again. Is the blog like a river with natural ebbs and flows!?!
The good news I do feel that I have more tone in areas that were sadly lacking before! I actually feel more positive about my body image than I have done for at least two years. I knwo there's a lot of work to do and I'm not where I need to be, but I am really liking not totally ignoring my reflection because it's easier than facing up to it!!
Again, thank you Sue for helping me to exercise and examine my diet. I have soooo stayed away from the holiday beer (my downfall I think!!!!!)
Right, must crack on with some stuff before Sue's training tonight! Yee har! That means I'm looking forward to training!!
I shall try and get my blogging back on! I maybe like the idea of a weekly entry!
Speak soon, Dusty!!!
phew, when Dusty goes for it, she really goes for it..exercise included! It has not only been a real pleasure to see and hear Dusty change her whole attitude to healthy eating and exercise but also to hear her advice to other FAT-SCRAPPERS as well as her family and friends. Encouraging others to think and feel differently shows how much she now believes in what she is doing..and if you beleive in it you will do it!!! Dusty you are an inspiration!!! x
