Hi and welcome back!
Apple made a good point yesterday about looking at things with a different perspective, and suggested that Pear might like to think of her "time out" in a more positive way. I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to remind you that "time out" is ok..and good for you! As I have said from the beginning, FAT-SCRAP is not asking for extremes. You are not expected to push yourself at the same level everyday. It is important that you have rest..your body will be more efficient and productive after this rest.
I have talked about giving your body the fuel it deserves but it also deserves you to be kind to it and give it the love it deserves, not punishment. You might be thinking here "Ah great, Sue says it ok to sit and watch tv all day!" but when I say rest, I mean active rest.....for example, you might like to include some walking, yoga, pilates or swimming in your day or as Apple suggests, spring cleaning - any form of activity really, and of course, you might want to sit and watch a film or have a lie in - but you don't have to do this all day!!!

Morning all, what a lovely day again! Well I am making the most of Apple and Sue's comments and taking this period as a rest for my body and looking at it in a positive not negative way. I am spring cleaning...starting with my bedroom!! I've just finished my wardrobe and tried on a couple of pairs of trousers and to my joy far too big around the waist so those along with some old tops are off to the clothes bank!! It has inspired me even more to lose weight, and what with the sun shining I am now looking towards the summer and the clothes I WILL be wearing and looking good in!!
Out with the old you, and in with the new you!
..Although I have to say, you always look good in whatever you wear!
Yey!! Pear, how good does that feel huh?!! I too am finding things are too big which is a fab feeling. Roll on the summer and choosing some new clothes! I usually hate shopping with a passion as the trying on bit depresses me but I'm going to look forward to it this year. I might even put a date in the diary for May sometime to have an outing to town especially!
Wouldn't it be great if some local retailers got wind of Fat Scrap and offered us money off vouchers to spend? I am sure that all of us will be needing new outfits sooner rather than later.
Homework for today...for a bit of fun...
What are the top three toppings you put on your oatcakes/rice cakes??
I thought if we all listed our favourites it would be a good way to share ideas..
1. Hummous topped with lentil and pea shoots (from Sainsburys salad section)
2. Peanut butter and banana
3. Mackerel pate and cucumber
See you guys later and have a happy day!
Great stuff Apple..some good ideas here!
I'll keep the discount voucher in mind, not sure how I would go about asking retailers, but what a great insentive it would be!
Toppings for oat/rice cakes..great suggestion. Here are mine (does it count if we use some of the same ingredients??)
Houmous or avocado with beetroot
Avocado with salsa
Goats cheese (once you are back on the dairy) with tomato
Infact I had a bit of all of these at lunch time!!
Thanks for the reminde of the lentil and pea shoots..I haven't bought these for a while and had forgotten about them.
I have to agree with you about your other choices too..all great favorites of mine!

I had the first 2 for my lunch today and really filling.I dont shop at Sainsburys so not sure what lentil and pea shoots are like...but sound nice!
My bedroom is now clutter free....beds all cleaned, ironing done and dog walked....amazing what you can get done when you stay at home...!!
Actually, just remembered I meant to tell you about some suggestions for toppings in The Food Doctor book. I must try them out as they sound yummy. Will give them to you when I see you.
I went to a friends funeral today, so I feel emotionally exhausted.
So only food choices today
porridge, kiwi, seeds, yogurt, soya milk, orange juice
Thai chix curry and rice, spinach
4 falafel

So sorry for your loss and sadness, Jayne x x
