Results are in..well done everyone! I hope you are proud of the results you have achieved so far. As I said yesterday, it is not just your weight, measurements and body composition which are important factors in measuring your success, but also your results in how you are thinking and feeling now. When I first meet with someone interested in working with me to lose weight I ask them why they want to lose weight. The usual answer is "to be happy". My question is "does that mean that you think all slimmer people are happy?" I have met many people who have lost a lot of weight and really seem no happier than before. Before they were worrying about how, and if, they would lose weight, now they are worrying about how, and if, they can keep it off!
Today I invite you to share with us your results and your present happiness!!
"Why "weight" to be happy when you can choose to be happy today?!"
Sue x

Good morning Everyone
How quickly the 4 weeks have passed and together with the programme, I have also met Apple, Pear, Maz and my exercise Buddy so I have gained so much from yours and Sue's inspiration, support and help. I haven't lost as much weight as perhaps i would have wanted to - 4lbs - BUT being truthful, i have not stuck totally to the Plan. I have still indulged in sweet foods, so I am aware what i need to do. I know my journey will be slower if i tend to still eat these foods so it is up to me......do i want to see quicker results or 'stop at a station' now and again. Well you know what, i am going to challenge myself this coming month. I am not going to promise anything but I have learnt what to eat and that has allowed me to gain so much more knowledge. I have, however, lost a centimetre all over and my fat% has dropped so I AM pleased about that. Again, you may read this and say what ONLY a centimetre?? But to be honest, I am thrilled with that amount and hope to achieve much more at the end of my 2nd month. What I have surprised myself about, though, is that i have committed to the 3 sessions of exercise per week. Sue will tell you i was a couch potato beforehand. I am pleased that i managed to achieve this - and i can see that i have upped my fitness. My aim is to see Sue for 2 sessions per week for the next month and return to the Zumba class i attended before, for once a week.
I cannot tell you how much i have enjoyed having a buddy to work with (Jayne) - for me it is then a social visit to the gym as well as a workout. Jayne has achieved so much and it was so sad that for 2 weeks she has been unwell with flu. Apple and Pear your continuing support and comments are something i relish reading. Keep them up. Now to Sue ...thank you so much for your continual belief in me....i will get there and i have learnt so much over the last month about myself, food and health. Thank you to you all. Roll on Month 2! Have a great Sunday xxx
Thank you Mara for comments today and I have to say to all of you FATSCRAPPERS, Thank you x ...I really appreciate your belief in FAT-SCRAP, your trust in me and your honesty and your determination to continue on your new health and fitness regime!
Mara, I must also remind you that your measurement results were actually from three weeks, not four, as you were away when we took the first measurements, so to lose 4lbs of weight, which we know is body fat, as your body fat percentage has reduced, is a fantastic achievement! We also know that your body composition has improved in every area which means you have a better "engine" now for burning fuel so that's great news! The tape measure showed a reduction of a centremetre in nearly all parts we measured so even more good news! But for me the best news is to hear you say that you are thrilled with your achievements and looking forward to achieving more! x x
Ok so here are my results for my first month on fatscrap. I had set myself a realistic target of losing 7lbs. I had not shared that at the beginning as I took on board this was more than just weight loss. To my dismay half way into the programme I started to feel ill and then got the flu, so not much exercise. I continued to eat mindfully and seemed to naturally reduce my carbs intake. The results were quite astonishing.
I have lost 10lbs and 9 cms overall!!! Great result. What was interesting was because I was ill, dead in bed for 5 days and list my appetite. I lost lean body ( muscle) not fat. This could also be because I did a liquid low calorie diet a year or so ago and Sue thinks my body slowed my metabolism with my body panicking to hold onto fat stores in case not much food was going to get eaten.
So the scales look good, centimetres gone, but no fat!! My aim now is to get my strength up and burn some fat. The month has been great, completely changed my overall food choices and no alcohol. The bonus there is I have not missed it. That change I am continuing as I am loving the positive benefits. My confidence is higher as a result of my positive thinking and feeling. I have loved the support from the other fatscrappers, and the blog was invaluable when I was sick in bed. It kept me connected and positive. It is great to go on the journey with others in the same position as yourself and the talks and insights that Sue gives are so enlightening. I really do feel Sue cares about each one of us and goes out of her way to be helpful motivating and flexible. Also a great bonus, she will challenge us physically and our mindset in order to help us acheive our goals.
I now have a picture of who I am and want every day to be part of my personal journey.
No more waiting for me. I'm on the journey and loving it!!
Thanks so much Sue and you lovely fatscrappers
Wow Jayne and Mara, SO proud of you both, well done!!! And Pear...always proud of you!
Welcome to our new way of life girls! And isn't it a fabulous place to be?
WELL DONE Jayne and Mara, great great results, hope you are pleased with them? and Mara, yes be positive, I've had a funny old March (lots of evenings out and birthday celebrations) and really dont feel I've committed to the plan as much as I wanted, however, I'm not looking at this in a negative way (as I would usually have and given up!) I'm now on a positive, new month pending and I'm telling myself I've had a months stop at the station, but now back on the track..... onwards and upwards!!!
Apple, cant wait to see your results later this week.....I think you've done amazingly well and I"M VERY VERY proud of you!! x
How interesting your results were Jayne, and don't they just show that just using the scales as a tool for measuring success really doesn't give us a big picture.
Jayne has done fantastically well this month inspite of her emotional difficulties and her illness and indeed, the scales have proved that she has eaten less calories as she has lost weight. And the tape measure backs this up with losses of centimeters but the most interesting thing is that the body composition analysis has shown that she has lost len tissue weight and not body fat. This is undoubtly because of her low levels of activity due to her illness and possibly because her body has automatically gone into starvation mode due to the effects of previous dieting.
All in all Jayne's results sum up the importance of combining regular activity and exercise with healthy eating to obtain healthy weight loss results.
Hi All, well had my 3 month weights and measurements with Sue today and was extremely pleased with the results. i must say I havent lost the stone or more that I wanted at the beginning of this plan, but I think this has now confirmed that the scales arent everything, its the measurements that count so much more. I am pleased to say I have lost 4.6% body fat which is equivalent to 13.9lbs in weight. I have lost 4 cm off bust, 4.5cm off waist, 4 cm off hips and 3 cm off upper thigh and 10.5lbs. I must be honest and say these last 2 months I havent committed to the plan as I did in the first month, due to evenings with friends/birthday celebrations and not feeling very well, so I was really surprised with my results and they were all a minus which is the most important thing.
Today I had a great session with Sue, and it has now spurred me on for a positive and successful month with lots of healthy eating and plenty of exercise. Its amazing that now I feel better, I really want to exercise and try and get in as much as I can. Sue has now set me a target to lose 6% body fat over the next 3 months, and I know I can do it (or even better it....that's my challenge)!!!
It has been so wonderful to see and hear Pear feeling more confident about making healthy eating and exercise part of her lifestyle now and the biggest success for her is that she has still been able to go out, have fun and know that she has not failed, just stepped off her journey for a moment.
Today I was so proud of her fitness achievements at her workout considering she usually sees herself as someone who doesn't like exercise. There seems to have been a big shift in this belief now and seeing herself now as someone who enjoys exercise and all the benefits it brings, she will be more motivated to become even fitter..bit worried about her becoming stronger though as she can throw a good punch already, and she will be lifting heavier weights than me!!
Well done Pear, you have gained so much already!!
And thank you for the laughter you bring to our sessions :) x
Hi everyone! I am thrilled with my 12 week results - really pleased I have lost weight, fat and inches! What's more I honestly feel that thanks to the FatScrap plan I have introduced a whole new way of being fit and healthy. It doesn't feel like an effort any more, the choices I make feel completely normal to me. By now on a 'diet' I would have got fed up or bored and strayed back into my old ways but I don't feel like doing that at all. I still have a way to go on my weight loss journey so long may it all continue!!
Here are my results:
Weight now - 12st 4
Total weight loss to date: 19lb
My BMI is down 3 points and body fat down 3.7%
I have lost cm from everywhere measured but most noticably 10cm each off my chest/back and waist!
So can hardly wait for next month! My goal for then is to be under 12 stone. What do I plan to do differently this month? Up the exercise sessions again as I have not been able to make so many this month. I do plenty of exercise and have a generally active life but I do miss sessions in the gym with Sue and felt these really targeted building muscle and losing fat.
I'm just loving my new life and feel so much more confident in myself. My clothes feel loose, my skin and hair look bright and healthy, my energy levels are sky high and I have such a positive outlook....what could I possibly not like about this plan?? Nothing, it's brilliant!!
Apple, you have made some fantastic changes to your food and exercise choices which have given you these amazing results..well done!! x x
It's interesting to see with Apple, that she has continued to lose weight and inches with eating healthily and keeping active but over the last two months she has also lost some lean tissue as well as fat meaning that her body fat percentage hasn't reduced quite as much as we had hoped.
It is very difficult to lose just body fat when losing weight and as Jayne's results have shown, even more difficult when you are not keeping active, so this is why the FAT-SCRAP Programme puts as much emphasis on doing the right type of exercise regularly to encourage the body to lose fat and maintain lean, as well as eating healthily.
