FAT-SCRAP APRIL 2010 DAY TWENTY EIGHT

AM: chopped grapes and finished up the yogurt!! Hurrah say the readers who are bored of my 3 days of yougurt!! I haven't minded the 3 days (Sue will be thinking I hear this coming from the person who ate rubbish for breakfast (yup, donuts were not taboo for breakfast, but I did stop myself with cold pizza one morning a year ago!) and had to have something different to stop boredom!!. I like yogurt, that's a good change and easy to have before I rush out to work (urgh - in two month's time after the career break is over!).
Exercise with Sue. Pear is good to train with, I am not at your level but I raise my game on a Thursday. I felt I had today - yipeee!
Lunch: 2 pitta's (wholemeal) with chicken chunks, handful of grated low fat cheese, sliced cherry toms and 3 radishes.
Did have a large Latte with a friend in town - haven't had coffee for a while, which was nice. Usually I have a latte everyday at work with this friend, so it's nice to have gotten out of the 'latte and a whinge' before we knuckle down to work!! We still whinged about things today and had good old laugh (so I felt positive about being away from work!!), but maybe I need to not get back into having a latte - but getting just water when I am back at work.
Dinner out: Thai restaurant - had a sliced beef salad. Salad consisted of toms, onion (as I write this and have cleaned my teeth ages ago, I can still taste the onion - yuk!!) shredded lettuce and a lime and coriander sauce. Yum!! Had bottle of carbonated water. Felt good about my choice, full but not lardy and uncomfortable.
Can't sleep so thought I'd have a few mins to catch up with the blog!
Want to do a swim tomorrow morning, if I yawn too much in the pool I shall take on loads of water and sink!!!
If I were advising myself, I would say that getting out of old habits, making good new ones (exercise, eating heathier) trying something new - not just your own way has had a good impact. Small things can lead to a change, start them and build up.
Whilst I used to get disheartened at a 2lb loss a week, I am really pleased to see this on a weigh in!! I know I am going in the right direction. Before I was in the lose weight fast brigade (not that it ever worked) and if I didn't see results I'd give in! Now I know you have to work at it
Have faith in yourself to commit to exercise and enjoy it when Sue gets surprised when you exceed her expectations!! That's a good reward!!
Understand that you may not always do the right thing and if you go off track, put yourself right the next day. Don't beat yourself up (Sue will have something to inspire or keep you in line!!!) but don't slide back down.
Think about what and why you are doing it.
Say to yourself...I WANT, so you think these positive thoughts, instead of negative I don'ts. I am finding that is currently helping me at the moment just thinking I want...
Thinking 'I want x' at a restaurant keeps me thinking that I need to pick something good!
Trust Sue, she's been doing this for a while and she knows just when to call you up on your decisions good or bad!
Ps It's your skin, no-one else wears it - so get toning/fuelling it the right way!!
Hi All, had a great session with Sue and Dusty today, we sure did work hard, and yes Dusty its great to see you improve at each session, thank you for your lovely words, but I do think we all help to motivate each other, but I must say that seeing I never used to like exercise, it does mean a great deal to me that I am helping you and I love it even more that you were groaning more than me!!! See I'm not the only one making all the noise!! I do wonder what the postman/neighbours must think....I hope Sue they do know what you've got in your garage????
Food choices for today
Porridge with pear
rice cakes with humous and beetroot
banana
Roast Lamb with roast pots, broccoli, runner beans and carrots
Hey Dusty, you were busy last night!! It's lovely to read how you are progressing on your FAT-SCRAP journey, hopefully the days of doughnuts for breakfast are long gone now!!! Yoghurt and fruit are a great alternative, I have this every day but find I need a bit more substance to my breakfast so have it with porridge, or at the moment I am having the oats just soaked in water for about 20 minutes with some seeds and then the fruit and yoghurt on top. I must say that I absolutely love my the oats.fruit, seeds and yoghurt combo and look forward to it every morning.
I can't really see a problem with having a latte, as I imagine it's only coffee and milk (or do they add lots of sugar?) In an ideal world I would prefer that it was made with organic milk but I don't suppose the coffee shops would go that far yet! The good thing is that you had the coffee, enjoyed it, and didn't have a cake!! So, I would suggest that whne you go back to work, check out what's in the latte and if all seems pretty ok, have it!! You can still make sure you drink plenty of water the rest of the day.
The Thai salad sounds delicious, and once agian, you went out and still made great choices, proving that it can be done!
Your second blog today is inspiring and I am so excited to hear your positive attitude coming through and that you have taken onboard a lot of the advice I have given you. Thank you, and everyone following the FAT-SCRAP Programme for your continued trust and support in it and me, it makes me even more passionate in continuing to commit to putting my trust and support in the Programme and you! x x
Yes, I often wonder how the sounds coming from behind the garage door might be interpreted, especially yesterday when you shouted your orgasmic "Yes!" I think bith you and dusty took your training up a notch yesterday - it's so rewarding for me to watch you, not only getting fitter and stronger, but enjoying doing so!! x x
