Had a rather achy day today! My leg muscles...boy do I know they have worked!! Still I managed a trip to the gym. I did feel very stiff but it felt great to move and stretch and I’m sure it did me good??!
I feel really pleased with what I ate today. More than anything because I really enjoyed everything I ate today but what I’m most proud of though is dinner time... Now usually on a Monday I snack on tea and biscuits or a cake in the afternoon, go for a swim and do my class and then come home starving at and eat anything and everything I can find – usually a bag of crisps, sandwich, maybe a second bag of crisps (yes, horrifying isn’t it!). But..not today! Today I made myself a jacket potato and tuna with a large salad and ate that at 5pm. Plenty of time to digest it before my exercise and I had loads more energy than usual.
Now I’m home and ready for a decaf coffee before bed, and I really – honestly – don’t feel the need to snack at all!!
All in all a great day and I’m feeling really positive!

Oh my god, do my thighs ache today!!!! Probably the 100 plus squats Sue had us doing yesterday!!! I thought by this afternoon they would feel better once I walked the dog and went to work, but oh no not at all, in fact they’ve got worse…..don’t know how I’m going to manage another session in the Gym on Wednesday!!! Did suggest to Sue we do upper body work only, but she wasn’t having any of it and said using the same muscles again within a week you wont ache so much next time….so I’ll let you know if that theory works next week!!!
I woke up about 5am with a stinking headache which really hasn’t gone all day, suppose the detox has kicked in (would that happen so quickly???), and more importantly does that mean how much rubbish I must’ve been feeding my body??
Talking about eating, I’ve had a good day with food and as I write this I feel full, haven’t craved any chocolate, cakes, crisps or wine!!! Not bad for the 2nd day!
Right I am now off to do a lot, and I mean a lot of stretching…I need to get rid of this pain!!
Me….

Well, you may be surprised to hear that, as my dear friend Linda once described this feeling after exercise ….I deliciously ached!! I did expect it really as I have not recently exercised at this level due to having a holiday, and only working out in my comfort zone, but I think the others were pleased to hear that I was suffering too! Managed to walk my dog and losen off a bit and then later, teach a fitball class where I had to grit my teeth a few times as muscles complained at doing the same movements as yesterday but, as they say, no pain, no gain..and gain (a healthier body) we will!!!

The muscle aches prove just how much you gave to your workout. Just remember it won't be so bad next time!! And the good news is that while your body is recovering from the workout, you are burning even more calories!!!
