Hi and welcome back!
Today and everday from now on why not think about treating yourself with kindness. What can you do today that will be kind to you - kind to your mind and soul and kind to your body, inside and out?

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the help on fat Sue. Do manufacturers actually state exactly which fats are included in their products? I will start taking more notice. Well sadly, Zumba was cancelled last night. My nephew (Cheryl's husband) was rushed to hospital yesterday with a closed throat so i stayed at the centre to tell everyone that the class was off. If I hadn't been soaked through i would have joined you and Jayne. Went out to dinner last night and stepped off a station. I ate cheese souffle, new pots and salad, after which i can honestly say i was full. BUT i ate a passionfruit creme brulee for afters! Yes it was delicious but oh dear how uncomfortable i was afterwards. Lesson learnt again! Then I couldn't get to sleep because my stomach felt (and still does) overloaded and i was freezing cold to my core. So i wrapped up in my Mother Christmas thick fleece dressing gown and slept in that all night. Result today feeling fine but still incredibly bloated that i cannot eat yet but will have some fruit in about an hour (Im at work today). So my stomach must have shrunk in this last month, plus it is not used to such rich foods. Don't despair Sue it is all lessons i have to learn myself. I AM getting better because i didn't choose chocolate!!! So am sat here 10 hours later feeling as full as i did then! Interesting. Have a lovely day girls. XXX
PS: Forgot to say that I am going to give friends nail varnish instead of chocolate as Easter gifts!!!! HOpe they do the same to me!
Hello all
Last night had s fabulous reflexology session with Apple. So relaxing. Thanks v much Apple!! I had a day of training today which was v inspirational, however feel so tired tonight. So treating myself with kindness I have made my apologies and am not attending a meeting I was due to go to.
I shopped today to get stuff to take on my hols. Treats would normally include crisp type snacks, chocolate or cake and wine! Not today, I chose olives, sunblush tomatoes, some blue cheese and no alcohol!!! I still feel very happy not to drink alcohol.
My new walking boots arrived today, v exciting. I am looking forward to wearing them on walks in Cornwall.
Mara, treat yourself kindly and don't beat yourself up about last nights food. As you said another lesson learnt and a payoff you did not enjoy feeling so bloated. I guess that is why I am not drinking alcohol. I remember the hot feeling and sometimes bloated the next day from sugar. I am also avoiding wheat as much as poss for the same reason.
I am going to have some whilst on hols to try.
Food today
muesli yog dried apricot nuts and seeds blueberries
banana 2 oatcakes
chilli salmon fillet rocket toms cue beetroot pear 2 oatcakes
carrot sticks houmus
roasted veg chicken 2 clementines
Lovely idea for Easter gifts Mara, but your friends know you love chocolate so unless you tell them I would guess that's what they might give you.
In answer to your other question, yes manufacturers do often break down the type of fats in their products in their nutrition guides.
Interesting observations then from last nights meal which, as you say, you can learn from. I wonder if it was the high dairy/high saturated fat intake that made you feel uncomfortable? x
mmmm, delicious treats for your holiday Jayne and lovely healthy choices for your meals again today, well done! How lovely to be going to such a beautiful part of the Country for your holiday and being in touch with nature with all your senses! x x
Hi girls!! Lovely to read all your comments today, sorry I have been a bit quiet of late. No reason other than a busy time!
I had a great day - took my two boys to London to the Science Museum. We had a great time and I loved watching them enjoying themselves. It was so busy there, and on the tube, but such a great experience for them.
Jayne I am very envious of your trip to Cornwall and your new walking boots!! I'm after some new ones too and can't wait to get out and about more in the fresh air now that Spring is finally arriving (If I keep saying it then maybe the weather will take notice!).
Ok, so Sue, you asked us today to think of how we can be kind to ourselves... Fantastic! This is something which has become so important to me recently.
So what have I changed? Every week in my shopping trolley I put in a lovely bunch of flowers for myself. Just some daffs or tulips - such amazing colours - they brighten up my home and make me smile.
Wherever and whenever possible I make time for some yoga. I feel so energised after, in mind body and soul - its my way of saying I value myself enough to give that time to nurturing 'me'.
Also, I have started looking in the mirror and smiling at myself...don't laugh!!...but it helps me to like myself more - wobbly bits and all! And I give myself a positive affirmation each day. Like this ... "I am free to think wonderful thoughts. I move beyond past limitations into freedom. I am now becoming all that I am created to be." Empowering, powerful and kind to myself.
Hope you all have a great Easter! I don't feel particularly tempted by chocolate eggs this year. If someone does give me one I will accept it gratefully and enjoy it knowing it has been given with love and good intention. And what a great excuse to do plenty of extra activity to balance it out!!
Yes I agree with you Apple re the chocolate. I have a gold bunny sitting in the cupboard. It was given to me before I started fatscrap. I had decided I would have it at Easter after 5 weeks on the plan. It isn't calling me at the moment.
I also treat myself to some flowers each week. I love Spring flowers. They make me smile. I am also treating myself to reading from my beautiful day book every day and taking on board who I am. My other treats are stroking my pets every day. They love and it also makes me feel good.
A final thought Mara, if you do get chocolate this Easter, why not plan when you are going to eat it and what extra exercise you can do to balance it? Maybe that way it can be enjoyed and you can be guilt free :))
Right everybody..if you are going to eat chocolate this Easter I absolutely insist that you do it without feeling guilty..and enjoy it!!! All the food you eat should be tasted, savoured, enjoyed and digested with a positive mindset!! So, as Apple and Jayne have suggested, you could choose chocolate and balance it out with exercise..infact the best time to eat some chocolate would be straight after exercise, as your body will be able to deal with the sugar better then. Also, think about quality rather than quantity. Choosing the very best chocolate and having a little you will be able to appreciate the taste, smell, texture, richness etc of it and know that you are treating yourself to the best..and we all deserve the best, don't we!!!!
Well What lovely reading this morning whilst eating my porridge! Its so encouraging knowing that actually we're all going through the same process, and finding ways to deal with it. When you mention chocolate, isnt it funny how when I've entertained over the last couple of months, when our guests come to the house with gifts they bring chocolates when they KNOW I am on this eating plan!!! Its very kind of them, but I wonder why they're doing it? I would never bring chocolates to someone who is trying to be healthy and lose weight....and I really dont think they're trying to sabotage my weight loss as they're not that kind of people, but it did make me think, but I'm still none the wiser!! So I now have 3 boxes of lovely chocs in my cupboard which I'm not even tempted by....now thats a first!!!
Have a good day everyone enjoy this beautiful morning whilst it lasts!! x
