FAT-SCRAP APRIL 2010 DAY NINETEEN

Hi and welcome back!

Will - the power to chose or decide; desire.
Willpower - the strength of will to chose or decide; desire

When people talk to me about their health and fitness goals one of the most common things I hear from them is "I haven't got any willpower" and this lack of willpower then becomes the reason for not achieving their goals. Do you believe that your willpower isn't very strong? If so, the questions you might like to ask yourself are

"How strong is my desire to reach my health and fitness goals?"

"Am I prepared to make the choice to do what it takes?"

"Have I decided that I am worth the sacrifices and the hard work?"

Listen to your answers and hear if they are the answers that convince you that you will achieve your goal? If they do not convince you, then what needs to happen so that you are convinced?

Think of anything you have ever achieved in your life and how strong your desire was to achieve that goal. How easy was it to make the choices and decisions that led you to achieving that goal? Is your desire to achieve your health and fitness goals the same? If not what is dfferent? What needs to happen for your desire to be the same?

If you really, really, really want something, do you do everything in your power to get it? Do you let nothing get in your way?

What might be getting in your way? Could it be you, I wonder?

Hi everyone.
Great to read your posts. Sorry I have been quieter this week. Thanks Sue for hugs. Yes missing Sophie at the moment. However, not filling the gap with food!!!
I have been busy this week with work. Had a free afternoon today and was going to garden, however my sis unexpectedly came up to see me, so we had a lovely afternoon together with two dog walks. I am loving the sunny blue sky days at the moment. Oh good to be alive days :))
I am also busy planting and growing as I am increasing my summer production to ensure I have lots of fresh scrummy veggies. I have mange tout, spinach, red onions, broad beans, courgettes, rocket, salad crops, potatoes and tomatoes. I am currently into sprouting seeds and beans(very nutricious) and cress. I am also excited as I am going to get some hens. I used to have them years ago, but a move to a smaller house ended that, but I have decided to go for it again. This is all part of my picture that was on hold until I moved. I realised I can do it now and how it will feed my soul.
So, every day I get pleasure in my garden, wandering around watching it all grow. Soon, I hope to be chatting to my hens too.
So, where does this all fit in to fatscrap you may be wondering- well I get exercise, and feed my soul, together with producing healthy chemical free produce to eat. I am concentrating on the quality of what goes on my plate from now on, every mouthful.
Off to Pilates in the morning and a session with Sue tomorrow night. Missing boxercise on Sat as I am off to Cornwall with my walking boots- yippee!! Lots of cliff top walking around the lizard to spot some seals.
Keep going everyone because we all deserve to have fit healthy bodies.
Today's food choices

Lovely post today Jayne, I expect we are all feeling inspired to go out and grow something nutritious now. I am so lucky as my Father has a small market garden and grows us delicious summer vegetables..there's nothing nicer than carrots straight out of the ground and tomotoes eaten straight off from the vine. If growing your own is not your thing, or you haven't got the space, then I would recommend the organic vegetable boxes you can have delivered to your door.

Your comment about not waiting until you move to grow your own veg reminds me to live in the present and do the things today that will make you happy. A friend talked to me the other day about self indulgence and feeling guilty about indulging herself in the things that made her happy. My reply was, "if you don't take the responsibility to make yourself happy, who will?" We can't wait around for someone else to make us happy, we have to choose to be happy ourselves.

Jayne, it's wonderful to hear your happiness x x

Am: Natural yougurt with frozen raspberries and blueberries.
Snack: Pistachio nuts
Lunch: 3 Nairns oatcakes and 2 Rice cakes. Used mashed avocado as topping and had some chopped ham on some and small chunks of Feta on the others. 2 radishes. Nakd cherry bar and an apple to finish.
Tea: chicken breast wrapped in bacon with salad and potatoes.
I spent the morning going through my wardrobe, I hadn't planned to do this! I tried on a variety of trousers and found that I have gotten rid of a lot of them, the good news is that they are all too big now. The thing was that last year when I had really peaked at my worst, they were what fitted comfortably. I felt that I was a run away steam train on the sizes and the only way has been up the sizes.
I felt awesome - no more fat pants for me and it was really good to say ' No, you are too big for me'!! A lot of my favourite shirts that I had got too big for - now fit - yeehar!! I also tried on a skirt that I hadn't worn for probably 10+ years (it's still a classic style, so doesn't look dated) and whilst it's snug (not visibly, inner skirt) on the hips, it's a 2 sizes lower than I currently am, so I was amazed!! It's like having a whole new wardrobe. Happy days.

How exctining and fabulous Dusty! Feeling your clothes looser or too big has got to be the best way of knowing the changes you are making are changing your body shape. You are moving in the right direction away from those fat pants into those smaller pants, now you know how it feels to be slimmer as a result of eating healthier and being fitter. x x

Lovely blogs today girls, great reading and all so positive!! I spoke to Sue and I'm going to start writing my meal plans and maybe a few lines or 2 on how I'm feeling, as I've still got this wall in front of me that I cant break through!! Is it my motivation thats gone, or have I just become complacent with the plan, I really need to get focused back on track and with all your positive thoughts, I'm going to break this barrier and reach my goal!
Oh lucky you Jayne for the hens, my daughter wants one and I've said no as its not good for our neighbours...but I personally would love to collect fresh eggs in the mornings! Also might get myself a few grow bags myself and plant some tomatoes. I was watching Jamie Oliver last night and he made a lovely fresh juicy tomato salad with Chorizio (which of course I wont use) and it looked so tasty, that it inspired me to make it this weekend as I've seen on weather forecast its going to be a gorgeous weekend! Bring on the BBQ
