Welcome back!
So more training sessions today and yesterday for some of you and I wonder how you are feeling about it? Your body may be aching by now from your last session and hopefully that will just be some of your muscles reacting to the fact that they are not used to being used! The good news is that the more you use these muscles again the less they will complain!! (And Apple and Pear can vouch for that!) If you have noticed any pain in your joints then this is something we do need to take into consideration so please let me know. The other thing to remember that resting those muscles is important to allow them to recover and strengthen, but that doesn't mean you have to be a couch potato - keeping active everyday is a priority!

Oh dear i had a glass of wine yesterday lunchtime (i was celebrating) with my girlfriends from school and not having had one for weeks, it went straight to my head and despite coming back to work, i was a mess! Looking forward to seeing you today SUe and getting my 'fix' of exercise!
Oh Yes, I can definately vouch for that Sue!!! I still laugh from the first week, when I could hardly walk let alone sit without moaning and groaning....but that feeling does go away thank goodness, mind you I'm not saying that I dont ache even now after Sue's sessions, but I like that as I know then I've pushed myself and worked hard. Mandy, I too got headaches for the first 2 weeks, so drink plenty and they will eventually go away! Good luck new Fat Scrappers cant wait to follow your journey!
Just got back from an hour with an osteopath who has done wonders on my neck and back and I wonder why I wonder why it is I often resist going to someone to help me!
Actually, I know why..because I don't always trust that the treatment will work and it will be worth the cost. I have spent a lot of time and money over the years going to therapists to help me with my IBS condition and never found the "cure" so now I can be very skepticle...
And I would imagine it's much the same for anyone trying to lose weight - you try every diet under the sun, hoping for the cure but never seem to find it.
For me the "cure" has been to take responsibility for my health and do what I can to look after my wellbeing but at the same time, going to someone like I have today, who can give a gentle push and pull in the right direction, guide me as how to help myself better by helping me gain more understanding of my body and how it works, is taking responsibility for my own health and fitness.
So, how does it feel as you take responsibility for your health and fitness and you allow me to give you the gentle pulls, pushes, guidance and understanding.
From Mandy..
Day 3 today. My legs have ached today but they have felt less achy as the day has progressed. Today I took my mum to a garden centre and we decided to have lunch there. I think I made the best choice that I could given the circumstances - I did not beat myself up about it anyway as I wanted to enjoy the trip out with my mum. She is elderly lives approximately 75 miles away, and due to family and work commitments I do not get to see her as I should. The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home (I am quite tired - I don't know how I have the energy to go to work!). So I will probably have an early night tonight - to brace myself for my exercise session tomorrow ... Here are my food choices today:
Breakfast - Porridge made with unsweetened soya milk, hemp seeds and a chopped banana
Snack - A banana
Lunch - (at a garden centre) a jacket potato (no butter) with a chilli con carne topping and a small side salad (no dressings or mayo)
Snack - Large handful of almonds as I felt hungry
Supper - Salad: spinach, rocket, watercress,2 hard boiled eggs, small avocado, tomatoes, celery, cucumber, radishes, beetroot all topped with balsamic vinegar
I expect you were hungry today as a result of yesterdays exercise Mandy and you may have needed a bit more protein earlier in the day to keep you feeling full, but great choices again, especially at the garden centre and how lovely to get to spend some relaxing time with your Mum. Don't forget natural yoghurt is a good snack or desert too!
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow x
BF Porridge with rice milk, snacl 2 kiwis. Training with Sue at lunchtime. Muscles felt sore, but not painful on Fri. Lunch, quorn pieces with ham, tomatoes, salad leaves, handful of pine nuts & olive oil+lemon/lime salad dressing (home made). Snack: 5 brazils + apple. Tea was beef stir fry with peppers, onion and brown rice. Amoy packet sauce (with the most natural looking ingredient list I could find) was added for flavour.
Lovely choices Dusty, with lots of vitality foods. You might find you are hungry on Friday after your training and need a few more starchy carbohydrates. Great efforts today at your training session. It's good to see you are listening to your body and noticing which muscles you are using in the exercises and how they are feeling. x
