Hi and welcome back!
One of the great things about FAT-SCRAP is that it encourages you to increase your intake of fibre.
Fibre is essential to aid the digestive system in the elimination of toxins and waste. There are two types of essential fibre – insoluble and soluble. Soluble fibre is found in fruit, beans, vegetables, oats, rye, barley, Insoluble fibre is found in whole grains, wheat and corn bran, vegetables, including potato skins, nuts, seeds, and some fruits. So by eating more of these foods you will be increasing your fibre intake and helping lower your risk of intestinal distress.

Hi fellow fat scrappers!!
Great day today...taking part in the first ever Celebrity SunWalk in Southampton - 10k walk with a great chum. Felt really proud to be part of it all, great atmosphere and a great cause. What's more we were thrilled to have smashed our fundraising target and raised over £500!! I did every step in my bra...no t shirt to hide behind this year!
The first mile or so I felt a bit self conscious and then I relaxed into to and realised that actually noone was staring at me more than at anyone else!
So...next challenge? Sue, I quite agree it would be great for all of us fatscrappers to have a challenge to aim for. Why don't we all do the Midnight Walk for St Michaels Hospice like Sue did last year? 11 miles, starting at midnight in Basingstoke, Saturday 4th September. I think it's got to be done girls!!! (Sorry boys this is an event for the girls - we will have to think of another challenge to include you in!)
What do you reckon?? Copy this into your browser for the details : http://www.stmichaelshospice.org.uk/?page=StaticPage-1340
Anyone who wishes to join my friend and I we are planning a 26 mile challenge for next May... 'London MoonWalk 2011 - Revenge of the Pink Tutus'!!
From Mandy....
Hi everybody,
Saturday was a glorious day. Met my best friend and her daughter in Eastrop park and our children had a fab time in the paddling pool and on the boats. Felt totally exhuasted afterwards as I did get some power walking in as well! Food diary today:
Breakfast: homemade flapjacks x 2 small slices (freshly made this morning so I couldn't resist!)
Snack: 2 small bananas
Lunch: Chicken, lettuce, celery, carrot, red pepper, grapes, oatcakes
Snack: nothing
Tea: Omelette made with ham, red pepper, garlic, mushrooms, served with sauteed potatoes - yummy
Am: Two slices of wholemeal bread. No snack, out for my Dad's birthday.
Lunch out: Baguetter with bacon, brie and cranberry (by the time we got to the cafe they had run out of jacket potatoes and I didn't feel like a all day breakfast, so it was sarnie/baguette as as choice).
Snack: Sticky bun at the coffee shop. A treat, not something for everyday!
Tea: BBQ - burger, bean salad, pot salad, cous cous and 1 sausage in a roll.
PM: Homemade fruit cake (Sue's recipe) and 2 glasses of sparkling rose to toast my Dad. The Fruit cake is very moist,I covered it in marzipan and icing (so that's probably made it not so good - but had to be done!). Will make again without the extra toppings!
